Nick started his driving career at the age of 9 driving in the WKA Karting Series. Kart racing gave Nick the skills he needed to move up to the much faster Legends Cars. Racing at tracks such as Old Dominion Speedway, South Boston Speedway and South Side Speedway in Virginia you need a good amount of experience to handed the very fast speeds that Legends Cars can reach.
Nick's first year at Old Dominion Speedway was a successful one. Starting out knowing nothing he progressed up to three top ten finishes by the end of the year. Even after missing one race in the middle of the season he was still able to finish in the top ten in the season points championship. Nick was also voted Rookie of the Year for 2000 at Old Dominion Speedway.
Since 2000 Nick has become one of the front runners that the other racers know have a good shot at to finish up front each week. Nick has been enjoying his run in the Legends Series, with wins in both dirt and asphalt oval and some great runs on road courses he has been improving his skills with each race. These efforts earned him Maryland State Pro Asphalt Champion on 2003 and 2005 and looks like a repeat is possible in 2006.
As we look toward 2006 we are going to start looking at other options and will probably start doing some testing in a Late Model getting ready to hopefully advance to some higher series.

Ryan didn't have the chance to start his race career in something like go-kart, he jumped right into the "Big Leagues" the Legends Cars Series. Luckily for him he has Nick to help him out and get off to a great start. All the things Nick had to learn on his own will be passed down to Ryan free of charge. This should give Ryan a great chance to showcase his driving abilities.
